Marina Mukandala Headshot - Yoga Teacher

It’s been my dream for as long as I can remember to one day open up a yoga studio and touch as many lives as possible with the life-changing practice of yoga.
Words can’t express how tremendously blessed I feel, to be in a position where I can now give back, in the form of a space that I’ve created for the practice of Baptiste Yoga.

My hope is to touch and transform as many lives as possible through Baptiste Yoga, just as it has touched and transformed my life.

I took my very first yoga class in 2004.  As I journeyed through the class, I was convinced that I was having a near death experience and couldn’t imagine why anyone would voluntarily put him or herself through such an ordeal.

The room was hot…very hot…and I was stretched to my edge physically, in a way that I had never been before.  It was after leaving the class that I realized why someone would indeed put themselves through such an ordeal.

I had never felt such immense peace, stillness, relaxation, and clarity, as I had that evening following the class.  I thought to myself, “Is it even possible to feel this good?”

The answer is, “Yes.”

It is indeed possible, and I had tapped into that possibility for the first time ever in my life.

I was now hooked and found myself going to class anywhere from 3-6 times a week.  But, it was more than just a good, sweaty workout that I received from class.  It was even deeper than the peace, relaxation, stillness, and clarity that I felt after class.

It was the fact that I had tapped into my own ability to feel this way outside of class as well.  This feeling didn’t have to end after class, nor should it.

I learned that I had the ability to carry this state of euphoria with me everywhere I went.  I learned how to show up in my life off of the mat, just as powerfully as I did on my mat.  I discovered that I was stronger than I ever imagined…not just in a yoga posture, but in my life.

It was then that the dream of one day becoming a yoga teacher and opening up my own yoga studio emerged.  I wanted to share this practice with the world.
In 2012, I attended Foundations in Action, opened up my own yoga studio, Mind Body Flow Yoga, in East Amherst, New York, and attended Baptiste Level One Training.  In 2013, I attended Baptiste Level Two Training and Art of Assisting.  In 2014, I became certified as a Baptiste Yoga Teacher.

This all has been an incredible journey and the beautiful thing about it is that it’s boundless.  There is always something new to learn, someplace new to go, and room for growth.

The journey never ends, as long as we have breath in our lungs.

I am committed to touching countless lives through this powerful, life changing practice all of the days of my life.

What a Student Said About Marina

Mind Body Flow Yoga is a really special studio. Marina, the owner, is not only one of the best yoga instructors I have ever had the pleasure of practicing with, she is a role model for women, a dedicated business owner, and a truly inspirational person.
The other teachers are really awesome as well!
I never once walked out of MBFY without noticing how much better I felt than two hours prior.
I recommend that you give MBFY a try even if you have to drive over 20 miles.
You will not regret it!
