Using Yoga to Realize Your Full Potential
Words of Wisdom:
“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking, and don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.” ~Steve Jobs
Thoughts for December:
Seasons greetings! I truly can’t believe we’re already at the last month of 2015 and that this is the last newsletter of the year! Time continues to amaze me, as it moves so fast.
I always find myself reminiscing around this time of the year, as it was around this time in 2011, that Mind Body Flow Yoga started coming to life. I can remember signing the lease and receiving the keys to the 1,200 square foot space that is now our studio home, just before Thanksgiving in 2011.
As the months went on, I watched my dream and vision come to life, as the space transformed into a yoga studio.
I held high hopes within my heart of creating a space where people could come and get away from the everyday stresses of life and grow more intimately with themselves in the process.
A place where people could come to gain peace, calm, empowerment, inspiration, and feel a sense of community, family, and connection.
Today, Mind Body Flow Yoga, is just 3 months shy of celebrating its 4 year anniversary, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the beautiful community that has flourished since we opened our doors.
What once was a dream of mine (that I for the longest time didn’t believe was attainable and was terrified of pursuing), has become a reality, simply because I finally got out of my own way and let go of the fear that surrounded going for my dream.
And now, as I bear witness daily to countless lives transforming through this powerful practice, I remain so happy and grateful that I took the plunge and went for my dream. I have each and every one of you to thank for being my continued inspiration and for making Mind Body Flow Yoga what it is today.
It wouldn’t be possible without you.
Chances are there is something in your life that you have always dreamed of doing, or desire to do, but keep putting off for “another time.”
I want to encourage you to take chances in your life and to consider that the time is now.
That there is no better time than the present. When you sit quietly with yourself, what speaks to you? Are you happy? Are you living your dream? Are you living the life that you always imagined for yourself?
In what areas are you stuck or holding yourself back?
Our mat practice teaches us how to explore our physical body’s potential and how to create ease of mind amidst the challenging physical work we do on the mat.
Through this, we learn that we are often far more capable than we give ourselves credit for.
We learn on the mat that achieving our fullest potential comes in even those split moments where we let go of fear and “I can’t,” and just go for it.
What if we applied our mat practice to our daily lives even more?
What if we showed up just as courageous in our life, as we do on our mat?
I’d imagine that we would take more chances, hold tighter to faith, release fear, be happy, live our dream, and not hold our own self back.
As we prepare to conclude another year, take time to sit quietly with yourself. Breathe in all that you want to create for yourself in 2016 and breathe out what you need to leave behind in 2015. Make it a great year ahead. Remember, the ability to do so lies within you.
My most humble thanks to each and every one of you for your continued support of Mind Body Flow Yoga and for making 2015 great. I wish you and yours a very happy and blessed holiday season!
