There is no better time than the busy summer season to take time to slow down, get grounded, centered, clear, balanced, and reconnected and recommitted to making time for yourself and your yoga practice. And we have just the right thing to help you achieve this…our Deep Restorative Workshop!

Mind Body Flow Yoga is very excited to bring former MBFY instructor and owner of Satya Yoga, Christine Harbison, back to the studio, for this popular workshop. If you remember taking this workshop when Christine taught at MBFY, you know you are in for a treat! If you haven’t taken this workshop in the past, get ready – it’s like a trip to the spa – deeply relaxing and invigorating!
Ever hear of “Yin Yoga,” and wonder what it is? Yin Yoga is a deep restorative practice that targets the fascia in the body (soft connective tissue that wraps around and connects the muscles bones, nerves, and blood vessels of the body).

Yin Yoga is most effective when more active forms of yoga are practiced regularly. You learn to let go and allow the body’s natural interaction with gravity to stretch the tissues rather than consciously manipulating your alignment to achieve a deeper stretch.
Instead of rhythmic contraction and release that best stretches muscle, connective tissue responds best to slow steady pull.
Join Christine and Marina, as they co-teach this deeply relaxing workshop. This workshop will start with a half hour power vinyasa flow, led by Marina, to warm the body, and will then move into a deep restorative yin practice, led by Christine.

The yin practice will be composed of mostly seated/on the floor postures, being held for 3 to 5 minutes. Holding the pose at this length, the body will respond by making the connective tissue in the body longer and stronger – allowing the muscles to relax, to increase circulation in the connective tissue, joints, organs.

This deep restorative practice is excellent for quieting the fluctuations of the mind and creating balance in the body.

As the attention moves inward with the deep holding of poses, it allows us to be aware of the thinking patterns we hold and how they create different currents in our being.

This workshop is perfect for runners, those working through or healing from an injury, as well as any and every one who wants to get in deep and slow things down.

Experience is not required and everyone is welcome.

Pre-registration is required.
