“Your words are powerful beyond measure. Speak life into others, as well as yourself, and you can achieve the impossible.” ~Anonymous
As we live out the final days of this year, I’m reminded of what a difference a day, month, and year can make in our lives, and my heart is filled with so much thanks, gratitude, and appreciation for all that this year has brought to life.
At this time, 5 years ago, Mind Body Flow Yoga was simply a space. I had just recently signed the lease and received the keys the month prior, right before Thanksgiving.
As the months drew on, I watched my vision come to life and the space transform into a yoga studio. I held in my heart high hopes of creating a place where people could come and get away from the everyday stresses of life, discover themselves, and grow more intimately.
…I held in my heart high hopes of creating a place where people could come and get away from the everyday stresses of life…
Today, Mind Body Flow Yoga is just 3 months shy of celebrating its 6 year anniversary, and I couldn’t be more thankful for the beautiful community that we’ve become. What once was a dream of mine that I thought was too much of a pie in the sky dream and didn’t think was attainable, has become a reality, simply because I finally got out of my own way and let go of fear.
I couldn’t be more thankful for the beautiful community that we’ve become…
I have each and every one of you to thank for making Mind Body Flow Yoga what it is today. I encourage you all to take chances in life and to hold tight to faith. When you sit quietly with yourself, what speaks to you?
Are you happy?
Are you living your dream?
Are you living the life you always imagined for yourself?
In what areas are you holding yourself back?
Our mat practice teaches us how to explore our body’s potential and that we are often far more capable than we believe we are. There is often so much more we can do than we think or believe is possible. We learn on the mat that achieving our fullest potential comes in even that split moment where we can let go of fear and just go for it.
We learn on the mat that achieving our fullest potential comes in even that split moment where we can let go of fear and just go for it…
We have the power to help manifest our dreams and the life we envision for ourselves, by what we tell ourselves. The more I told myself that opening up a yoga studio was impossible, the more impossible it became. The more I let go, softened, and believed in myself, the more attainable it became. It’s the same as on the mat. When we harden and tense up in our bodies and let our mental chatter run wild, the work becomes that much more difficult and seems that much more impossible. But, when we let go, soften, and detach from the stories in our mind, suddenly the work is ease and sky’s the limit with what’s possible in the pose. We must carry the practices we learn on the mat, off the mat, and into possibility and faith into our lives.
What if we applied our mat practice to our daily lives even more? What if we showed up just as determined in our life, as we do on our mat? What would life look like then?
I’d imagine that we would take more chances, hold tighter to faith, release fear, be happy, live our dreams, and not hold our own selves back.
As we prepare to conclude another year, take some time to sit quietly with yourself…breathe in all that you envision for yourself in the coming year of 2018 and breathe out what you need to leave behind in 2017.
Make it a great year ahead. Speak it into existence. Declare it.
It’s all in you!
