It is with much sadness that I share that a member of our Mind Body Flow Yoga family and team of teachers, is departing from the Mind Body Flow Yoga teaching team – our very dear and beloved, Angela Castlevetre. Angela and her family have recently gone through a major transition, with Angela’s twin daughters going off to college this past August. Angela’s youngest daughter isn’t too far behind in making her way off to college – with this being her junior year of high school. Additionally, Angela’s husband’s schedule has recently changed – which frees up Saturdays and creates space and greater opportunity for Angela and her family to be together. As such, Angela has decided to step down from teaching, to have more time with her baby girl and family as a whole.
I’ll always remember the day that I first met Angela. It was in June of 2014. Angela attended my class one evening and I’ll never forget this beautiful, poised woman entering the studio. She was friendly, quiet, and moved with such grace on her mat. She appeared to be hooked after that night, as I remember she kept attending class very regularly after that. A few months later, Angela approached me with interest in teaching at Mind Body Flow Yoga. She shared that she had completed her Baptiste Level One Teacher Training and that she loved Mind Body Flow Yoga and would love the opportunity to teach at the studio. At the time, I wasn’t in need of adding a teacher to my team. So, I offered Angela the opportunity to serve as a substitute instructor. She happily accepted and served in this capacity from 2015 – 2016.
I’ll remember and cherish Angela for her beautiful readings (her “yoga notes,” as she calls them), the way she always managed to move me to tears in savasana with her words and music selections, the way she always made me smile in chair pose when she’d say, “Sit your juicy yoga booty down,” her vulnerability with the way she’d always share stories from her life so openly while teaching, and her fabulous hair – I mean come on – whose hair looks that flawless, beautiful, and full of body after a sweaty yoga session? Most of all, I will remember and cherish Angela for her beautiful heart.
While it is very bittersweet for me to have Angela leave MBFY’s team, I am very happy for her and so very proud of her for making a decision that is best for her and her family at this time. She is embodying so beautifully what our yoga practice teaches us by doing what is serving and best for the path that she and her family are on, at present. It takes great courage. I feel blessed to call Angela my friend and to have witnessed her incredible growth from that evening in 2014 to now – five amazing years.
Angela’s last scheduled class taught at Mind Body Flow Yoga will be the 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM Hour of Flow class, on Saturday, December 28th. Please join her, if you’re able, and wish her farewell.
