It is with much sadness that I share that a member of our Mind Body Flow Yoga family and our team of teachers is departing from Mind Body Flow Yoga, our very dear, Carrie Woodrow.
Life ebbs and flows, and with it, are sometimes challenges that we must make priority and create space around. Carrie is the mother of two wonderful young boys. They are active in traveling soccer and this has recently posed a scheduling conflict with the class Carrie teaches at MBFY. As a busy working mom, she must create ease and space with this, by letting her teaching at Mind Body Flow Yoga go.
Carrie and I go way back. She has been a part of my life since before I opened MBFY. She was a student of mine when I taught at Rising Sun Yoga, in Williamsville. I often recount the story of Carrie showing up to her first class with me, at Rising Sun Yoga, in 2011, having accidentally misread the schedule, thus not knowing it was a hot yoga class. She panicked and was ready to turn around and go back home.
I encouraged her to stay and do her best. Well, as you can see, she not only stayed and did her best that evening in 2011, but she kept coming back repeatedly. She then followed me to Mind Body Flow Yoga, when I opened in 2012, attended Baptiste Level One Teacher Training in 2013, and ultimately, became a teacher on my team, in 2013. She’s had an incredible journey, that all began from her stepping outside of her comfort zone and overcoming fear, when she accidentally stumbled into my class that evening in 2011.
While I am very sad to see Carrie leave MBFY, I am so very proud of her and feel blessed to have witnessed her incredible growth from student, to teacher, to the incredibly strong and empowered woman she is today. She has always been a devoted mom to her two wonderful boys and I am proud of her for listening, honoring, and creating space around what is needed for her family at this time.
Words can’t express how very much we will miss you and how very grateful we are for having had you as a part of the MBFY community, Carrie.
You will always have a yoga home and family with us at MBFY and we wish you many blessings in all that lies ahead.
Please share your appreciation of Carrie below.

My first reaction–Oh no! But of course, we all get it. My own journey has taken a bit of a stall and I was looking forward to getting back to Weds nights with you. Thank goodness for Facebook! Much love and support to you sweet friend. I am certain our paths will cross!
I hope that you still get back to your Wednesday night routine once things slow down for you! I think you were my first “regular” student. It was so comforting to have a familiar face in class every week, when I first started teaching. See you soon!

I love the energy that you bring to class every time you enter the studio. Keep showing up big and shining that bright smile, my sweet yogi. See you soon!

Carrie, you were the first face I saw at MBFY! Although I hadn’t been to your class as often as I would have liked in recent months, I’ve thought about you often. I hear your encouraging voice in my head both on and off the mat! I wish you all the best!!
Katie! I miss you, my friend! I hope that you’ve continued to get on your mat and make time for yourself, it’s a struggle for all of us moms! Until our paths cross again, Namaste.
